LECHE FLAN!

Leche flan (also known as crème caramel ) has been everyone's favorite. I so love this dessert and every time I think of it, my tummy starts to rumble inside. :) This would be the first recipe that I'm going to share to you because this is my no. 1 dessert! :) I actually had cooked 2 variations for this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 10 egg yolks
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk (same size with the condensed milk)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • honey (optional)

Let's do it!

  • Beat the egg yolks in a big bowl usign a fork or egg beater.
  • Add the condensed milk and mix thoroughly
  • Pour-in the evaporated milk. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add in vanilla extract. Blend it well.
  • Put in some sugar on the the (mold) llanera and heat it on a low fire. You can put a little water so that it will caramelize faster. Wait until the sugar turns into caramel. Spread it evenly.
  • (Optional: Spread some honey evenly on top of the caramelized sugar. This will give you a darker color for your leche flan.)
  • Pour in some egg mixture in the llanera. Load the molds with 1  or 11/4 inch thick.
  • Cover the molds individually with an aluminum foil. If you don't have any aluminum foils, you can actually cover the steamer with a katsa/ clean towel. (just like when you're steaming some puto)
  • Steam it for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • After steaming, let the temperature cool down then refrigerate.
  • Serve it! :)
Servings: 3-4 llanera/molds
